It’s been quite a week over here. Landon has been going through his 18 month sleep regression, which has been the toughest one yet. He was waking up in the middle of the night and staying awake for hours or waking up between 4am-5am and would not go back to sleep. I think what has made it so much tougher is that he’s also in that crazy toddler phase of asserting his independence but yet not being able to communicate what he wants, which makes for some awesome tantrums. Couple that with being extremely tired and you’ve got a recipe for some long nights and even longer days! There’s been an excessive amount of coffee consumed over here, just in case you were wondering 🙂
I didn’t actually realize how long this project had been in the works until I sat down to write about it. For those who follow me on Instagram, you might remember the stories I posted about this hutch. I found it last year in May and HAD to have it. The problem, it is HUGE, weighs a ton and we don’t have a truck to haul it with.
Anyone else feel like Christmas is just sneaking up on us? How is December already halfway over?!?! I had all my decorations out the weekend of Thanksgiving, and somehow, I’m still not done decorating everything! Could it be because I keep redecorating areas I’ve already decorated? Hmm…
So, this was not a project or post I had planned on, it pretty much happened on accident while I was decorating the mantle today. I had a different plan as to what I was hanging above the mantle and hated how it turned out so I started over and this is what I came up with. I actually LOVE how this wreath turned out and wanted to share with you how simple it was.
You know the best way to wake up early on a Tuesday morning? To the sound of your dog getting sick. I mean, nothing gets you to jump out of bed and on your feet faster. And then try going back to sleep after that. Two things that I thought would be an issue having dogs with a baby or small child. 1) That the dogs would take or chew on the baby’s toys and 2) the dogs are going to get a little “thicker” when the baby starts eating solid food and can therefore feed the dogs 🙂
Ok, that’s not really something new. I guess the difference is, I’m being very particular about the things I buy for the house. Only making a purchase for an item I’ve really thought about, searched it out and have a specific spot for it. In the past, I would just go shopping, see something I like, buy it, and then get home and not really like it with anything else in the room.
I am so excited to FINALLY share this project with you all! I have been working on it for what feels like forever. Wait…you mean…having a baby will drastically change the amount of time in the day you have to accomplish things?!?! Case in point, I’ve been trying to write this blog post for 3 days now 🙂
We are going on hour 12 of baby sleep! He woke up at 5:45 to eat, but other than that, has been out since 9pm last night 🙂 I’ve been doing a little trial and error as far as sleep routines go and we may have found a good balance yesterday. I’ll keep it going for a few days and report back if continues to be this successful.
My mom is really going to LOVE this post 🙂 Pretty sure her dream is to turn an old barn into a home. Or at least into an event venue that she can run a business out of. Well mama, here is your inspiration! This is a 161 year old grain mill that was bought and remodeled by a couple of antique dealers, obviously they knew what they were doing.
I’m having an INSANELY lazy day today and I’m loving every minute of it! I was up at 4:30am the last 2 mornings for work and it really took it’s toll. This morning I slept in late, had breakfast and coffee with my hubby and am now laying in bed, blogging and watching…you guessed it…re-runs of Fixer Upper (it’s Tuesday, isn’t that what everyone does on Tuesday?) 🙂
